I am a certified tax accountant, formerly from an international ad agency.

In addition to being a certified tax accountant, I have two decades of experience working in the account division of an international ad agency. As an account, our mission was to drive communication effort to build the brand, brand engagement, and promote product usage.

 

For the many international clients, advertising effort, part of the Promotion of the overall marketing strategy(4P: Product/Price/Place/Promotion), is the weapon that helps to expedite business growth which is constantly updated through the extended PDCA cycle of Plan ->Do->Check results/analyze ->Standardize/discover learning ->Act for the next season.

<Tax advisory retainer contract > Monthly workflow.

  1. Monthly book review
    Customer to provide accounting data which are entered in Yayoi Kaikei soft wear, fullbankstatement and other materials to us, and  we check book/ monthly trial balance and make feedback.

  2. Preparation of payment slip for withheld income tax of special provision
    We calculate income tax withheld of special provision and supply pay slip customer twice a year. (Payment due date: July 10th and January 20th of the following year)

  3. Support tax application form to tax authority
    On behalf of customer, we prepare and submit necessary notification form to tax authority

  4. Customer meeting
    Upon  request to from customer, we will arrange customer meeting flexibly.

<FS closing and tax return> Fiscal year end workflow.

  1. Support annual financial statement
    We support to complete annual financial statement with confirming/advising year end adjustment journal entry in accounting book.

  2. Support detail of chart of account
    Customer to provide information of chart of account and we prepare/produce detail of chart of account. (In case bookkeeping option is ordered, we do it by our side.)

  3. Preparation of tax return (Corporate income tax, Local tax)
    By refering latest version of corporate income tax law, we prepare to file returns, supply details of the computation of taxable income to the Japanese tax office and inplement tax payment. 

  4. Preparation of tax return (Consumption tax)
    By refering latest version of consumption tax law, we prepare to file returns, implement tax payment and supply details of the computation of taxable income to the Japanese tax office.

  5. Preparation of interim tax return
    We basically apply interim tax payment by half amount payment of previous year annual payment amount. If you want interim provisional settlement,  please ask us.

  6. Preparation of fixed asset tax return
    We produce fixed asset tax return if needed. In case tax return needs more than 5 offices, we will submit extra estimate.

  1. Correspondence to tax authority
    We basically correspond to tax authority on behalf of customer so that customer can avoid problem which may be caused by customer's direct correspond.

<Bookkeeping >

  1. Data input into accounting book
    We enter journal entry into accounting book using mainly Kanjo-bugyo accounting software.

  2. Arrangement of receipt
    We ask customer to use our reimbursement exel sheet with attaching receipt as evidence.

  3. Receipt file
    We produce receipt file and return to customer once or more in a year.

  4. Monthly trial balance
    We produce and submit monthly trial balance every month.

<Payroll>

  1. Payroll
    After receiving monthly salary information from customer, we implement salary calculation. ※
    In case of bonus payment, additional fee, equal to monthly salary fee, will be charged.

  2. Salary payment slip
    We deliver salary payment slip to customer basically one day before salary payment date.

  3. Withholding income tax and inhabitant tax payment slip
    We deliver withholding income tax pay slip and inhabitant tax pay slip proper timing to customer.

<Year end adjustment/ legal record>

  1. Year end adjustment
    We prepare year end adjustment format( "deduction for dependents", "premium deduction report", and "spouse special deduction report") and its guidance how to fill in.

  2. Withholding slip
    We prepare and supply income tax withholding slip to every employee.

  3. Summary of annual withholding certificates and payroll reports to national tax office
    We prepare and submit summary of annual withholding certificates and payroll reports to national tax office. (In case there are more than 20 persons who withheld income tax by customer, we will submit extra estimate)

  4. Summary of annual withholding certificates and payroll reports to local tax office
    We submit summary of annual withholding certificates and payroll reports to every local tax office where employee live.

<Social security and labor insurance procedure>

  1. Monthly social and labor insurance application
    Affiliated social insurance labor consultant informs social security office of monthly social security charge.

  2. Report/apply to social security and labor insurance office for new and retired employee
    Affiliated social insurance labor consultant proceed application to social security and labor insurance office for new and retired employee.

  3. Annual application for social security and labor insurance office
    Affiliated social insurance labor consultant proceed annual application for social security office and labor insurance office.

<Payment procedure>

  1. Disbursement support
    Mainly by customer's online banking, we remit salary payment, withheld income tax, inhabitant tax, vendor invoice ,employee reimbursement, corporate income tax, local tax, and consumption tax.

<Tax audit>

  1. Preparation of related document
    We verify issue from tax view point in advance, and prepare appropriate materials if needed.

  2. Attend tax audit
    We attend tax audit starting from 10am to 5pm.

  3. Amended tax filing
    Due to tax audit, we will prepare and file ammended tax return. Extra cost depends on its contents of ammend.

<Company registration>

  1. Support legal procedure
    Affiliated Judicial scrivener prepare "articles of incorporation" , "articles of incorporation certification", and  "registration application".

  2. Support application to tax office
    On behalf of customer, we prepare/submit notification of "establishment of corporation"," blue declaration approval application", "opening salary payment office" , and  "withheld income tax of special provision application".  Affiliated social insurance labor consultant prepare/submity social security and labor insurance matters.

<Finacial reporting package to the headquarters>

  1. Monthly financial package reporting to oversea headquarter
    According to oversea headquater requirement, we prepare monthly financial statement, cashflow etc and we can directly  correspond to oveasea headquater.

We met at the same University club when Nakajima-san was a freshman and I was a senior. After graduation, we met again when he contacted me for consumer insight interview conducted by the global Ad agency he was working for. I recall him speaking passionately about his work and how much he is learning about communication strategy foreign based clients develop. After a while, he contacted me once again to ask about becoming a certified tax accountant. As he had been with the agency for long time, I initially did not recommend his idea, but he seemed determined. Sometime after, he left his job to begin studying for the tax accountant exam, which he passed in five years.

 

With his extensive career he developed while he worked at global Ad agency, I am sure he will leverage these experience and knowledge as his advantage.
